Thus, state law <br /> requires the Board of Selectmen to appoint a Sealer <br /> of Weights and Measures, a function currently pro- <br /> vided through June 30 by the state. The $5, 000 would <br /> enable the Selectmen to retain services of an individual <br /> experienced in this area and to provide basic equip- . <br /> ment. The Sealer certifies the accuracy of all com- <br /> mercial weighing and measuring devices and conducts <br /> inspections to assure they are used properly. <br />
