Article 38 : <br /> To see if the Town will vote to authorize the Board of Selectmen to <br /> enter into a contract to purchase water from the High Wood Water <br /> Company upon the following terms and conditions: <br /> a. The water will be supplied to the Town of Mashpee. <br /> b. The Town will design and build a water distribution <br /> system to supply water from an existing main at Great <br /> Neck Road, along Route 28 to Asher ' s Path area, Summer- <br /> wood; a portion of Quinaquisset Avenue to Cotuit <br /> Corners, all particularly shown on a plan entitled, <br /> "Asher ' s Path - Phase I . " <br /> c. The Town will install water meters in all residences <br /> using High Wood Water and charging customers the <br /> regular rate plus a 25% administration charge. <br /> d. The "Agreement" shall remain i. force for a term nct to <br /> exceed three years or the earlier date of development of <br /> a municipal well. <br /> e. Once the municipal well is brought on-line, the Town <br /> agrees to replenish 170 , 000 gpd until such time all <br /> water used during this agreement has been met. <br /> f. The Town will guarantee payment of water bills. <br /> g. The Board of Selectmen and/or Water Commissioners may <br /> require such further agreements as they deem reasonable <br /> and further, to authorize and empower said Board of <br /> Selectmen and/or Water Commissioners to assign the <br /> aforesaid contract to any municipal water district that <br /> may hereafter be established . <br /> Motion the Town vote to authorize the Board of Selectmen to enter into a <br /> contract to purchase water from the Highwood Water Company to provide water <br /> service to the area described on a plan entitled "Proposed Summerwood/Asherl- <br /> Path Water System dated January ' 1987. motion carries on a unanimous vote <br /> One potential source of water for the Asher 's 8: 19 <br /> Path/Summerwood area is the High Wood Water Co. <br /> This proposed agreement would allow the Town to <br /> contract with High Wood to provide the water . <br /> Like Article 35, the Town would provide a garan- <br /> tee of payment for the water provided and charge <br /> water users the price the Town pays plus 25 percent. <br /> 4 ..6.' <br /> - ? , :.6 Y:•fir. - <br />
