Review and Approve Minutes—January 29, 2025, No Quorum <br /> 2. 22 Nehoiden Road, Peter McEntee—Variance Request <br /> o Representative Peter McEntee, Engineering Works, Inc <br /> o Septic system failed due to proximity of groundwater. <br /> o Existing system is currently located under wheelchair ramp. <br /> o Proposing 2 compartment septic with sludgehammer and pump chamber into a <br /> leaching field, sufficient for a 4-bedroom dwelling <br /> o Variance request is for a 1-foot reduction separating groundwater. <br /> o Regulation: 5 ft separation <br /> o Proposal: 4 ft separation <br /> o RDA hearing with Conservation Commission is scheduled for March 6, 2025 <br /> Agent Comments <br /> o System is allowed to have at least a 1-foot reduction. <br /> o No issues with proposal <br /> o Closest waterways—Marsh; meets 1000 ft setback requirement. <br /> Motion <br /> o Mr. Ring made a motion to approve the variance as submitted. Mr. Virgilio <br /> seconded the motion. <br /> o Vote: 2 yay: 0 nay <br /> o Unanimous <br /> Documents provided: Public Hearing/Variance Request Form(2 pages);Letter to the Board from <br /> Engineering Works,Inc.; Proposed Septic System Upgrade Plan(3 pages),Engineering Works,Inc <br /> 3. Discussion of revised Recycling Regulation <br /> o Proposed changes to strengthen mandatory recycling requirements in the <br /> town. <br /> o Aim to improve compliance and efficiency in waste management. <br /> o New regulations would require separation of solid waste from recycling. <br /> o Waste companies must offer bundled packages for recycling and waste <br /> pickup. <br /> o Companies would check for proper separation and leave unseparated <br /> waste. <br /> o Waste companies must provide information about recycling options. <br /> o Draft regulations received positive feedback from the state,pending final <br /> review. <br /> o Board will vote on approval at the next meeting after public <br /> advertisement. <br /> 2 <br />
