DRAFT CHARTER REVIEW COMMITTEE MINUTES Monday,July 22, 2024 2 Lewis, yes McKelvey, yes Sherman, yes Waygan, yes Vote: 7—yes New Business The Town Manager distributed a draft of section 7.9 Removals and Suspensions. The Committee reviewed and discussed the changes. This section would not refer to an employee of the Town. It was suggested to refer to legal counsel regarding adding a provision that would steer towards conducting an executive session when a removal or suspension is brought before the Board. A redline draft was requested and will be made available at the next meeting for further discussion so the Committee can review the changes. Charter Review: Article Eight Section 8-S Time of Taking Effect The Committee began review of section 8-5 and referenced public comment to add a part (g) to this section, "a copy of the report shall be posted on the town website and maintained for a period no less than five years". Motion made by Darlene Furbush to add "a copy of the report shall be posted on the town website and maintained for a period no less than five years'; motion seconded by Greg McKelvey. Roll call: Miller, yes Weeden,yes Collins,yes Furbush, yes Lewis, yes McKelvey, yes Sherman, yes Waygan, yes Vote: 8—yes Motion made by Mary Waygan to add D Human Services as (9) to the following section The Town Manager when preparing such comprehensive plan shall consider, but shall not be bound in the preparation of such plan to the following departments: (1) a Department of Administration and Finance; (2) a Department of Community Development; (3) a Department of Coastal Resources; (4) a Department of Health and Environment; (5) a Department of Parks and Recreation; (6) a Department of Public Works;
