ANN, <br /> 16 (-'Treat Neck Road North <br /> ashpee, MA 02649,M <br /> Telephone - (508) 539-1438 <br /> MAS11PEE MSTORICAL CO MISSION <br /> Minutes of Meeting—February 27, 2025 <br /> Mashpee Historical Commission meeting was called to order by Ava at 4:25 pm. <br /> Commissioners Present: Ava Costello, Richard DeSorgher, Brian Hyde, and Lenny <br /> Pockneft. Rosemary Burns Love was on the telephone. Joan Tavares-Avant and <br /> Nancy Soderberg were not present. Guest in attendance was Brian Tobin, Planning <br /> director. <br /> Ava set the next MHC meeting date for Thursday, March 27th at 4:00prn <br /> Brian Tobin plans to inventory Mashpee maps working on identifying the Ancient Ways. <br /> He will be attending a meeting with others at Town Hall. <br /> Commissioner Reports: <br /> Richard is working with Brian Weeden to be able to finish the fencing on the Amos- <br /> Coombs-Avant Ancient Cemetery. <br /> High School honor students are still working on the booklet for American Revolutionary <br /> soldiers from Mashpee. <br /> Richard will look into some of the grants from the State of MA for the new War <br /> Memorial. <br /> or is proceeding on the Veterans Banner project for next summer. <br /> The new Director of the Chamber of Commerce intends to include information on the <br /> Mashpee One-Room Schoolhouse and the Indian Museum. <br /> Ava discussed her concerns out the engineering study on the Chop Chaque barn to <br /> find out about the necessary work to keep that building and maybe be able to move it to <br /> the Community Park sothat we could use it to display the history of Mashpee's <br /> cranberry industry and other historical displays. <br /> Ava mentioned the two new books that she recently purchased by Michael Pregot. The <br /> author plans to visit in the spring. <br /> We did get the additional funding for paying for the lease agreement for our printer <br /> added toour next year's budget.: , <br />
