MASHPEE CULTURAL COUNCIL <br /> MINUTES NOVEMBER 14, 2024 <br /> MASUPEE SENIOR CENTER, CONFERENCE ROOM <br /> PRESENT: Wendy Bornstein, Pamela Joseph, Celeste Kramer, Alison Machado, Diane Scott, <br /> Lee Smith. Not present: Rochelle St. John, Janet Wright. Attendee: Dianne Brace, candidate <br /> for Council membership. <br /> CALL TO ORDER <br /> The meeting was called to order by Lee Smith at 9:02 AM. A quorum was determined to be <br /> present. <br /> PUBLIC COMMENT <br /> There was no public comment. <br /> MINUTES <br /> The minutes of the meeting of July 10, 2024 were unanimously APPROVED on motion by 1). <br /> Scott, seconded by W. Bornstein. <br /> INRODUCTIONS <br /> New Council members Celeste Kramer and Alison Machado were introduced to the Council. <br /> Dianne Brace was introduced as an applicant for membership in the Council. <br /> OLD BUSINESS <br /> Treasurer's Report <br /> Wendy Bornstein reported unused funds from 2024 in the amount of$450, and the FY 2025 <br /> allocation is $6,200. Reserving $192 for administrative funds, the amount available for granting <br /> is $6825. On motion by C. Kramer, seconded by P. Joseph, it was unanimously VOTED to <br /> approve the Treasurer's Report. <br /> Citizen Survey <br /> The council discussed a summary of the results of the Mashpee Cultural Council Citizen Survey <br /> responses received at the Mashpee Night Out on August 7, 2024. There were 24 responses. The <br /> respondents' preferences fbr activities were concerts— 18; performing/live arts- 16; hands <br /> on/how to— 13; art exhibits— 12; gardening — 10; and senior programs-- 10; children's <br /> programs: preschool—6, elementary—8, young adult— 8. Suggested activities were multi- <br /> cultural fair; reading/book club, veterans, family friendly outdoor events,juggler/magicians; <br /> Warnpanoag programming, and bocci court. 21 respondents thought that Mashpee is a culturally <br /> rich town, and 14 respondents said that they know what the Mashpee Cultural Council does. <br /> NEW BUSINESS <br /> Discussion and Vote on Grant Applications <br /> The Mashpee Cultural Council grant requirements and priorities were reviewed, and the decision <br /> process was discussed. Each of the twenty-seven (27) grant applications were reviewed and <br /> discussed. On motion of P. Joseph, seconded by D. Scott, it was unanimously VOTED to <br />
