Town of Mashpee Conservation Commission
16 Great Neck Road North
Mashpee, MA 02649
Communication/ Correspondence: (Public Comment solicited for each update)
Not discussed
Additional Topics
• Gunter's Lane/Cluster Treatment Plant
The discussion focused on the status and potential conservation of the Gunter's Lane parcel. Multiple speakers
expressed interest in placing this item on a future agenda to allow for public comment and to clarify the
Conservation Commission's ability to influence the outcome of a proposed cluster treatment plant.
It was confirmed that the parcel is not part of ConComm Land and is currently a Select Board-owned property. A
five-year plan drafted roughly 10-15 years ago had recommended transferring the parcel to the Conservation
Commission with a conservation restriction, but this transfer never occurred. Other properties in town included in
that plan were successfully transferred, but Gunter's Lane was not. The Commission does not control the land, so
any CR or transfer would require Select Board approval. At present, there is no CR on the property, and its
current use may include consideration for the cluster treatment plan.
It was suggested that a future agenda item could include an update from Selectman Wheeden, the current liaison,
or from the Sewer Director regarding the parcel's status, though no commitments could be made on the Select
Board's actions.
• NIMBA/Bike Trail
Commissioners decided to defer discussion to another meeting for internal review and to respond formally to the
requester.
ADJOURNMENT
MOTION: To adjourn.
Motion by: Sarah Thornbrugh Seconded bv: Sandi Godfrey
Vote: Motion passed by unanimous vote.
Steven Cook, Sarah Thornbrugh, Sandi Godfrey, Paul Colombo, Richard Sahl)
Meeting adjourned at 9:15pm.
Respectfully submitted,
14--i-1_
Gina Gonsalves
Board Secretary
List of Documents:
0 Meeting Minutes of June 26, 2025
