The
commission discussed the need to vote on her request and noted that notification
would be sent promptly, as Town Clerk's office requested a response by Friday
morning.
o Members highlighted Ms. Zollo's extensive experience and knowledge, emphasizing
that retaining her as an associate member would allow the commission to continue
benefiting from her expertise without requiring full attendance at every meeting. It
was clarified that as an associate member, participation in specific projects could be
requested at the board's discretion, rather than mandatory attendance at all meetings.
The commission confirmed that her letter, dated September 4th, had been on file for
some time.
MOTION: To accept Alexandra Zollo's resignation as a Member At
Large and be reclassified as an Associate Member.
Motion by: Sarah Thornbrugh Seconded by: Richard Sahl
Vote: Motion passed by unanimous vote.
(Steven Cook, Sarah Thornbrugh, Paul Colombo, Sandi Godfrey,
Seana Pitt, Richard Sahl)
Commissioners acknowledged Ms. Zollo's excellent service and expertise
as a full-time member. With this change, the commission would have six
full-time commissioners. Mr. Larsson indicated he is not able to move up
to a full-time position due to personal and business constraints, so the search
for a new full-time member will continue.
Members discussed posting the vacancy, noting that previous board and
commission openings had been posted but may be outdated. Confirming
with the town clerk was suggested to ensure proper posting. Concerns were
raised about maintaining an odd number of members for quorum purposes,
especially during the busy summer months. The commission reviewed the
current composition: if Alex and Neil serve as associates, there would be
four associates and seven full-time members, leaving one full-time vacancy
and a manageable balance of associate positions.
14
