4 Community Preservation Committee Minutes September 19, 2024 Annual Public Hearing on the Needs, Possibilities and Resources of the Town of Mashpee as they relate to Historic Preservation, Recreation, Affordable Housing and Open Space; Information for the funding of projects at the May 2025 Town Meeting: (continued) Additional comment; David Weeden, Select Board member and EOC member recommended the CPC review each application based on ability. Elizabeth Wade, Habitat for Humanity is considering an application in Mashpee. Sue Dangle, a member of the Mashpee/Wakeby Pond Alliance is interested in CPA funding to improve the boat ramps and surrounding areas for stormwater improvement, bio-retention. The ramps are state-owned requiring state approval. Ownership is currently being reviewed by the Town. Alum treatments are also being considered. Being no further comment, the CPC motioned as follows; Motion made by Ms. Waygan to close the Public Hearing. Motion seconded by Mr. Klein. VOTE: Unanimous. 9-0. An appraisal is pending. Acquisition of 475 Nathan Ellis Highway: The applicants have not accepted the Town’s offer, and are pursuing an independent appraisal. An additional article is on the warrant to set aside the Annual 10% Reserves and Budgeted for Appropriation Reserve of the Community Preservation Committee. Update on the Acquisition of Pickerel Cove Properties previously approved: A draft Purchase & Sale Agreement for the Acquisition of the Pickerel Cove Properties is pending. The Native Land Conservancy is interested in holding the Conservation Restriction on this property.
