4 <br /> <br />Community Preservation Committee <br />Minutes <br />September 19, 2024 <br /> <br />Annual Public Hearing on the Needs, Possibilities and Resources of the Town of Mashpee as <br />they relate to Historic Preservation, Recreation, Affordable Housing and Open Space; <br />Information for the funding of projects at the May 2025 Town Meeting: (continued) <br /> <br />Additional comment; <br />David Weeden, Select Board member and EOC member recommended the CPC review each <br />application based on ability. <br />Elizabeth Wade, Habitat for Humanity is considering an application in Mashpee. <br />Sue Dangle, a member of the Mashpee/Wakeby Pond Alliance is interested in CPA funding to <br />improve the boat ramps and surrounding areas for stormwater improvement, bio-retention. The <br />ramps are state-owned requiring state approval. Ownership is currently being reviewed by the <br />Town. Alum treatments are also being considered. <br /> <br />Being no further comment, the CPC motioned as follows; <br /> <br />Motion made by Ms. Waygan to close the Public Hearing. <br />Motion seconded by Mr. Klein. <br />VOTE: Unanimous. 9-0. <br />Roll Call Vote: <br />Ms. Russell, yes Mr. Klein, yes Mr. Hyde, yes Ms. Waygan, yes <br />Ms. Barbee, yes Ms. Wyman-Colombo, yes Ms. Godfrey, yes <br />Ms. MacDougall, yes Mr. Schmuhl, yes Opposed, none <br /> <br />OLD BUSINESS <br />Update on CPC Articles for October 21, 2024 Town Meeting: <br />Acquisition of Gooseberry Island: The article was removed by the Select Board. An appraisal is <br />pending. <br />Acquisition of 475 Nathan Ellis Highway: The applicants have not accepted the Town’s offer, <br />and are pursuing an independent appraisal. <br />An additional article is on the warrant to set aside the Annual 10% Reserves and Budgeted for <br />Appropriation Reserve of the Community Preservation Committee. <br />Update on the Acquisition of Pickerel Cove Properties previously approved: <br />A draft Purchase & Sale Agreement for the Acquisition of the Pickerel Cove Properties is <br />pending. The Native Land Conservancy is interested in holding the Conservation Restriction on <br />this property. <br /> <br />
