5 <br /> <br /> <br />Community Preservation Committee <br />Minutes <br />November 21, 2024 <br />COMMUNICATIONS & CORRESPONDENCE <br /> <br />CPC Application Process: The Chair requested the CPC conduct a thorough review of the <br />applications when evaluated. This includes utilizing the existing criteria set forth in the CPC <br />Application. <br /> <br />CPC Coalition: The CPC Coalition sends newsletters to the respective Community Preservation <br />Act communities throughout the Commonwealth. All CPC members should be receiving the <br />informative updates. <br /> <br />OLD BUSINESS <br />Subcommittee on Communication: <br />To improve upon communications regarding the Community Preservation Committee it was <br />agreed that a communication framework would be developed by a CPC Subcommittee to <br />encompass internal and external levels. Input would assist the CPC in prioritizing spending on <br />the four categories of funding; Affordable Housing, Open Space, Recreation and Historic <br />purposes. <br />Initial recommendations include attending monthly staff meetings to discuss CPC Applications <br />with Department Heads, and to ensure the CPC Agendas are posted on the CPC webpage. An <br />open newsletter of CPC activities and funding round deadlines was suggested to be disseminated <br />to stakeholders quarterly. This information would be posted on the Town Facebook page along <br />with photo’s of completed projects. Also under consideration is publicizing information on <br />Mashpee TV Channel 8, and utilizing ZOOM during meetings. <br />Update on the Acquisition of Pickerel Cove Properties & 475 Nathan Ellis Hwy; (Projects <br />Previously Approved): <br />A brief update followed with respect to the Pickerel Cove properties and 475 Nathan Ellis <br />Highway projects that have not been finalized to date. <br /> <br />NEW BUSINESS <br />Communication Framework; How can the CPC Improve Communication with Town Hall and <br />Public: <br />Discussion followed with respect to the improvement of communication of CPC information to <br />Town Departments and to the general public. It was agreed the CPC Agendas would be posted <br />on the CPC webpage along with updated information that may be of interest. <br /> <br />
