OLD BUSINESS <br /> 0 Popponesset Approach Dredge Update. <br /> Mr. Tomaino reported that the Approach was dredged this past March. <br /> He stated that the total accumulative volume of sand that was removed from the approach was <br /> 2,395 cubic yards. <br /> The pipe will be removed before Memorial Day. <br /> NEW BUSINESS <br /> • Update to the Waterways Commission regarding new SAFE boat and funding source. <br /> Rob Tomaino updated the Commission regarding the new SAFE boat stating that back on <br /> January 10th the Commission approved the transfer of $100,000 be transferred from the <br /> Waterways Commission Improvement Capital Account to be used to partially fund the new <br /> SAFE boat. He said that CIP will now be funding the entire amount for the purchase of the boat. <br /> • Request for funding from the Waterways Commission for a purchased and installed <br /> Forward Looking Infrared (FLIR) on the new SAFE boat in the amount of $16,892.03. <br /> A motion was made by Dick Noonan to approve the funding from the Waterways <br /> Improvement Fund of$16,892.03 for the purchase and install of a FLIR M364 Single Payload <br /> Stabilized 640 Thermal 24 DEG FOV Camera W/O JCU for the SAFE boat. <br /> Motion seconded by Chair, Stephen Mone. <br /> Motion passed by unanimous consent. <br /> Grant match funding request, Design, Engineering, Permitting, Ockway Bay Marina <br /> $40,000. <br /> Chair Mone stated that he has spent most of his life in Mashpee and that he often hears that <br /> Mashpee doesn't have a Town Marina and also, that the Town of Mashpee should be dredging <br /> Waquoit Bay. He stated that he has been successful in obtaining Grants in the Scituate. He <br /> stated that they just did a 180 slip marina in Scituate and were able to obtain 3 million dollars in <br /> grants. The project ended up costing the Town 20% total for the project cost. He said they <br /> obtained another almost $400,000 for permitting for dredging with the Town of Scituate's <br /> share about $20,000. He said that he is looking to have $40,000 approved for a Grant match for <br /> the design, engineering and permitting for a small marina in Ockway Bay so that money that is <br /> derived from the marina would be put into the Waterways Improvement Fund or a specific <br /> 2 <br />
