Select Board <br /> Minutes <br /> August 11,2025 <br /> Resident Andrew Schofield addressed the Select Board with concerns regarding the <br /> proposed use of Gunter's Land as the site fora future wastewater treatment facility. <br /> Mr. Schofield shared that he had purchased his home based in part on information from the <br /> state's GIS system, which showed the land as conservation land — a majorselling point for <br /> him. He questioned how residents are expected to support a proposal that appears to <br /> contradict both the Town's stated intentions and the voter-approved action plan and called <br /> on the Board to reconsider the long-term implications of reversing conservation <br /> designations in favor of infrastructure development. <br /> ADDITIONAL TOPICS <br /> (This space is reserved for topics that the Chair did not reasonably anticipate would be <br /> discussed) <br /> LIAISON REPORTS <br /> Selectman Richardson noted that "Mashpee's Night Out" was well received by the <br /> community and described the event as a great time for everyone involved. He thanked all <br /> who participated and contributed to its success. <br /> WATER QUALITY UPDATES-N/A <br /> TOWN MANAGER UPDATES <br /> Residential Exemption Eli ibility <br /> Town Manager Rodney Collins informed the Board and the public that the Town Assessor <br /> would like to remind all eligible taxpayers that they must reapply annually for property tax <br /> exemptions only if there was a change of ownership,such as transfers into a trust. Failure to <br /> reapply will result in the loss of the exemption. Application forms are available exclusively <br /> on the Town's website. Taxpayers are encouraged to review the eligibility criteria and submit <br /> their forms promptlyto maintain their exemption status <br /> Hazardous Waste Collection and Shredding Event <br /> A Hazardous Waste Collection and Document Shredding Event will be held on Saturday, <br /> August 16, from 9:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. at Mashpee Middle-High School. Residents are <br /> encouraged to take advantage of this opportunity to properly dispose of hazardous <br /> household items and securely shred personal documents. <br /> Town Manager Rodney Collins provided an update regardingan operational meeting held on <br /> Thursday, which included participation from various town staff including the Water Quality <br /> Coordinator, Engineering Consultant, Town Planner, Select Board Chair, and the Sewer <br /> Commission Chair. Collins noted that the meeting was productive, with a significant <br /> exchange of information and a thorough question-and-answer session.The discussion was <br />
