MASHPEE CULTURAL COUNCIL <br /> MINUTES NOVEMBER 17,2025 <br /> MASHPEE SENIOR CENTER, CONFERENCE ROOM <br /> PRESENT: Wendy Bornstein, Dianne Brace, Pamela Joseph, Celeste Kramer, Alison Machado, <br /> Diane Scott, Lee Smith, Rochelle St. John, Janet Wright. <br /> CALL TO ORDER <br /> The meeting was called to order by Chair L. Smith at 9:04 AM. A quorum was present. <br /> COMMENT <br /> There was no public comment. <br /> MINUTES <br /> The minutes of the meeting of July 24, 2025 were unanimously APPROVED on motion by W. <br /> Bornstein, seconded by L. Smith. <br /> OLD BUSINESS <br /> Treasurer's Report <br /> W. Bornstein reported a cash balance of$2742. To date $4275 has been reimbursed for grant <br /> projects, leaving a grant balance of$2550 and an administrative cash balance of$192. <br /> NEW 13USINESS <br /> Election of Vice President <br /> Council members discussed the advantages of having a Vice Chair to assist with presidential <br /> duties, P. Joseph moved to nominate Rochelle St. John, with L. Smith seconding. After <br /> discussion, it was unanimously voted to elect Rochelle St. John as Vice Chair. <br /> Discussion and Vote on Grant Applications <br /> The FY26 Mashpee Cultural Council allocation was $6200. The Council grant requirements and <br /> priorities were reviewed, and the decision process was discussed. Each of the twenty-nine (29) <br /> grant applications were reviewed and discussed. On motion of L. Smith, seconded by C. <br /> Kramer, it was unanimously VOTED to approve a total of 16 grants in the amount of$6200. <br /> Wendy Bornstein will input the Council's voting decisions with the Massachusetts Cultural <br /> Council, which will notify those applicants whose requests were denied. The denied applicants <br /> will have 15 days to request reconsideration. <br /> ADJOURNMENT <br /> On motion by D. Scott, seconded by D. Brace, it was unanimously VOTI'll)to adjourn.
