IMP. IMBO
d"fr,,{ynr,fw VhP.
w Mashpee lncCusion and'Diversity Committee
16 Great Neck Road -Vort(-
MasGtpee, M-A 02649
isn't a point to the brochure, when everything can just be looked up online. From a youth
perspective, who is going to use that? For the older population it makes sense. Additionally,
the survey is only being shared at the library, through Facebook, and the Senior Center. Older
people are frequenting those two locations; we need to be pushing to get more young people
involved. As a whole, we are not doing that. They were discouraged about Indivisible not being
able to speak. Isn't the point of this committee to advise the town? There seems to be a lot of
restrictions in trying to advise the town or the ability to act.
OLD BUSINESS
Column
A beautiful article was written by Tracey Wilson. The logo looked great on the column. She
thanked the Enterprise for always including the MIDC column. Next article will be written by
Wendy Bornstein, Treasurer of the Mashpee Cultural Council. After that, there will be a
contribution on race from Matilda Ligon.
Brochure/ Plastic Holders / Locations
Mohamad Fand helped wrap up the edits. The Chamber of Commerce recommended
Sunderland Printing for a total cost of $300.00 for 500 copies, $500.00 was budgeted for this.
Now they need to discuss where they should go across town. This is way to make our
presence known.
This brochure was created 8 years ago with the intent of being for new people arriving to the
community. It represents belonging and important organizations and agencies across town.
Ms. Wilson stated a lot of people utilize the brochures at Town Hall. She thinks they are
important.
Ms. Stevenson noted the front explains who we are and what we hope to do. It has information
about Race Amity Day and the column. The plastic containers may need to be purchased;
some establishments provide them.
Places identified to put the brochure: Mashpee Post Office, Town Hall, Chamber of Commerce,
Public Library, supermarket, Tribal Government Center, school central office/individual offices,
Christ the King food pantry, New Seabury, Southport, and Willowbend.
An email will be sent to committee members to volunteer to distribute the brochure to locations
across town.
2
