Santuit Pond Landing(Catherine Laurent to Present)
Catherine Laurent of DPW presented proposed minor modifications to the previously approved Santuit Pond
Landing project, which is currently under construction and temporarily paused due to weather. DPW is requesting approval
for two changes: a 13-foot pavement extension at the boat ramp to improve maneuverability for trucks with trailers, adding
approximately 234 square feet of asphalt in a previously disturbed area, and a small pull-off area along the access drive to
allow vehicles to turn around safely, adding approximately 605 square feet of pavement away from wetland resources. Ms.
Laurent explained that stormwater from the additional pavement would be directed to existing bioretention areas and that
current drainage infrastructure is adequately sized to handle the increased runoff. Commissioners discussed vegetation
impacts and confirmed that the site includes extensive revegetation and native plantings as part of the overall project.
The Commission agreed to proceed with administrative approval of the modifications, with updated plans of record and
as-built plans to be submitted to reflect the approved changes.
MOTION: To allow the Town to add additional paved area for the parking and turnoff,
and to have administrative approval once the as-built is submitted.
Motion by: Richard Sahl Seconded by: Sandi Godfrey
Vote: Motion passed.
Aye: Steve Cook, Paul Colombo, Sandi Godfrey, Seana Pitt, Richard Sahl
Nay: Sarah Thornbrugh
2
