It was noted that CIP funding is currently <br /> limited due to other major capital needs, which is why the request was directed to CPC. <br /> MOTION: To accept the application that was submitted by the applicant past the deadline, <br /> with the caveat that the Committee authorizes the chair to contact the Chair of <br /> the CIP to discuss process and awareness so that the CPC is not stuck making <br /> quick decisions. <br /> Motion by: Mary Waygan Seconded by: Richard Klein <br /> Vote: Motion passed by unanimous vote. <br /> MOTION: To approve the KC Coombs playground, resurfacing$135,000 from Open <br /> Space Recreation. <br /> Discussion: Ms.Waygan asked how much is available from Open Space Recreation and <br /> Mr. Hyde answered that there is $496k. Ms. Barbee stated that when she first <br /> learned of the late proposal, she questioned whether it rose to the level of an <br /> emergency,however, after hearing the explanation, she acknowledged that the <br /> safety issue—specifically the risk of young children ingesting deteriorating <br /> rubber surfacing—does constitute an emergency and warrants prompt action. <br /> Motion by: Bryan Hyde Seconded bv: Judy MacDougall <br /> Vote: Motion passed by unanimous vote. <br /> NEW BUSINESS <br /> RE:AUGUST 2026 and OCTOBER 2026 MEETING DATES <br /> The Committee discussed meeting logistics for August and October 2026 due to the Waquoit <br /> meeting room being unavailable. Members agreed to keep the regular fourth Tuesday meeting dates <br /> and seek an alternate room rather than cancel meetings. <br /> It was clarified that the August meeting remains scheduled for August 25, 2026, and the October <br /> meeting remains scheduled for October 27, 2026. The Chair will reserve another available room as <br /> needed,with the understanding that the Committee can adjust closer to the meeting dates if <br /> circumstances change. <br /> OLD BUSINESS <br /> 1. Final Recommendation on 701 Great Neck Road South Application <br /> The Committee reviewed updates to the 701 Great Neck Road South application. Since the last <br /> meeting, the applicant reduced his request to approximately $845,000, reflecting a roughly 50150 <br /> cost split between the owner and CPC. <br /> 3 <br />
