<br />Select Board <br />March 23, 2026 <br />Minutes <br /> <br />Selectwoman Kelley-Wilson-yes <br />Selectman Richardson- yes <br />Article 24 <br />Motion made by Selectman Weeden to approve and recommend Article 24. <br />Motion seconded by Selectwoman Kelley-Wilson. <br />Discussion focused on clarifying the project scope in the explanation, particularly <br />emphasizing that, in addition to HVAC upgrades, the project would address fire suppression <br />and bring older sections of the building up to modern safety codes. <br />While it was noted that the article itself cannot be changed, Town Manager Rodney Collins <br />confirmed that the explanation can be expanded to better reflect these safety <br />improvements, in addition to providing a supplemental page with a more detailed <br />breakdown of the article. <br />Board members agreed that highlighting fire suppression and code compliance would <br />strengthen public support. <br />Chair Wyman-Colombo added that maintaining appropriate classroom temperatures <br />(ideally 68–74°F) is critical for e?ective learning, particularly during standardized testing in <br />May, as excessive heat can negatively a?ect student performance and health.
