<br />HUMAN SERVICES COMMITTEE <br />MEETING MINUTES <br />FRIDAY, FEBRUARY 20, 2026 <br />11:00AM, via Zoom <br /> <br /> <br />PRESENT: Lynne Barbee (Chair), Karen Yetra (Clerk), Heidi McLaughlin, Sandra Pacheco <br /> <br /> Gail Wilson (Director of Human Services) <br /> <br />ABSENT: Tracy Wilson, Mary Bradbury, Kasey Sherman <br /> <br />GUEST SPEAKER: Donnajean Lopez, One Shared Spirit <br /> <br /> <br />CALL TO ORDER: 11:00 AM <br /> <br />PUBLIC COMMENT: none <br /> <br />NEW BUSINESS: <br /> <br />Guest Presentation: <br />Presentation by the President of One Shared Spirit, DJ Lopez. One Shared Spirit was <br />established in 2021 with the goal of helping those in need who are either in or seeking recovery <br />from substance misuse. Since 2024, they have seen over 500 people in our area. They provide <br />life-saving supplies and education in a stigma free environment.They work closely with the <br />Mashpee police and fire departments as well as other resource providers in the area. Their <br />funding is derived from private donations and they have also been recipients of grants from the <br />Mashpee Opioid Abatement fund. DJ suggested that more work be done with the middle and <br />high schools around the issues of substance misuse and also more training of staff near the <br />Mashpee ponds. The committee thanks DJ for the important work that she does for the <br />Mashpee community. <br /> <br />Presentation Schedule: <br />Gail reported that the Massachusetts Behavioral Health Helpline will deliver a 30 minute <br />presentation at the next meeting on March 20, 2026. <br /> <br />Director’s Report: <br />Gail sent a letter to Kasey Sherman requesting her to provide a response as to her interest in <br />continuing to hold a seat on the Committee. <br /> <br />She also reported that CredibleMind is developing a demo video promoting the use of the <br />town’s new website/mental health platform. <br /> <br /> <br />
