The Finance Committee recommends approval of Article 16 by a vote of 6-0 <br /> <br />Motion made by Select Board Member Weeden <br /> <br />Motion: I move the Town vote to approve Article 16 as printed in the warrant, with the exception <br />of the phrase “or take any other action relating thereto.” <br /> <br />Motion passes 254 to 21 at 8:45PM <br /> <br /> <br />Article 17 <br /> <br />To see if the Town will vote to raise, borrow or transfer from available funds and appropriate the sum <br />of $975,742.66 to provide for road improvement projects under the Chapter 90 program, or take any <br />other action relating thereto. <br />Submitted by the Department of Public Works <br /> <br />Explanation: This article authorizes use of funds which will be 100% reimbursed by the <br />Commonwealth of Massachusetts. The budget approved each fiscal year by the Legislature and <br />Governor establishes the total funding available for Chapter 90 local transportation aid for that year. <br />These funds are then apportioned to the 351 Massachusetts towns and cities. The funding authorized <br />by this article is the maximum anticipated Town’s share of the FY 2027 Chapter 90 program. <br /> <br />The Select Board recommends approval of Article 17 by a vote of 5-0 <br />The Finance Committee recommends approval of Article 17 by a vote of 6-0 <br /> <br />Motion made by Select Board Member Cotton <br /> <br />Motion: I move the Town vote to appropriate the sum of $975,742.66 to provide for road <br />improvement projects in and for the Town, in accordance with the provisions of Chapter 90 of <br />the Massachusetts General Laws, and to authorize the Treasurer, with the approval of the Select <br />Board, to borrow said sum of $975,742.66 under and pursuant to the provisions of M.G.L. <br />Chapter 44, Sections 7 & 8, or any other enabling authority, and to issue bonds and notes of the <br />Town therefor. <br /> <br />Motion passes 269 to 11 at 8:47PM <br /> <br /> <br />Article 18 <br /> <br />To see if the Town will vote to appropriate the sum of $549,112 to establish a budget for the PEG <br />Access and Cable Related fund for FY 2027, with said appropriation to be funded through the current <br />balance of the fund, or take any other action relating thereto. <br />Submitted by the Finance Director <br /> <br />Explanation: The Department of Revenue requires the Town to establish and appropriate a yearly <br />budget based on estimated expenditures from the fund for the next fiscal year. The total budget voted <br />may not exceed the current balance within the fund. <br /> <br />
