<br />HUMAN SERVICES COMMITTEE <br />MEETING MINUTES <br />FRIDAY, APRIL 17, 2026 <br />11:00AM, via Zoom <br /> <br /> <br />PRESENT: Lynne Barbee (Chair), Karen Yetra (Clerk), Mary Bradbury, Sandra Pacheco <br /> <br /> Gail Wilson (Director of Human Services) <br /> <br />ABSENT: Tracy Wilson, Heidi McLaughlin, Kasey Sheehan <br /> <br />GUEST SPEAKER: Sheila Kelly, Massachusetts Behavioral Health Help Line <br /> <br /> <br />CALL TO ORDER: 11:05 AM <br /> <br />PUBLIC COMMENT: none <br /> <br />NEW BUSINESS: <br /> <br />Guest Presentation: <br />Presentation by Sheila Kelly, Community Relations Rep for Massachusetts Behavioral Health <br />Help Line, www.masshelp.com <br /> <br />Under the state Department of Mental Health, the Massachusetts Behavioral Health Help Line <br />(BHHL) connects residents directly to clinical help 24/7 via phone, text or chat. The service <br />guides the callers to the appropriate help or treatment, free of charge, no health insurance <br />needed and is completely confidential. Calls are received in real-time interpretation in over 200+ <br />languages. BHHL also offers a robust public facing directory of resources on its website. This is <br />a state funded initiative available to all residents in need of assistance. <br /> <br />Review of Status of Absentee Committee Member: <br />Gail reported that after repeated attempts to communicate with member Kasey Sherman, no <br />response has been received regarding her status. Mary Bradbury moved to accept the <br />resignation of Ms. Sherman, which was unanimously approved by the Committee. Gail will <br />inform the Select Board of the resignation and a search will begin for a new member. <br /> <br />Director’s Report: <br />Gail reported that applications will be available on May 1, 2026 for the 2026-27 round of Opioid <br />Abatement grants. The deadline for the applications is June 1, 2026. <br /> <br />She also reported that High Point will be opening a detox treatment facility in Hyannis this fall <br />and Gosnold Detox will be moving to Wareham. <br /> <br />
