It was also <br />noted that the town has avoided seeking an override until now, despite warnings dating <br />back several years. <br /> <br />Motion made by Greg McKelvey to rescind the vote on Article 15. <br />Motion seconded by Jamie Schuh. <br /> <br />Greg McKelvey noted that a significant amount of information has been gathered in regard <br />to Article 15. <br /> It was pointed out that the property owner was aware of its historic status at the time of <br />purchase, and there was general sentiment that ownership of a historic building comes <br />with the responsibility to maintain and care for it appropriately. <br />Motion rescinded by Greg McKelvey. <br />Jamie Schuh rescinded her second. <br /> <br />Review, discuss, and take action on Town Meeting Warrant Articles on which <br />no action has been taken <br />Article 16 of the Special Town Warrant <br />Motion made by Jamie Schuh to recommend Article 16. <br />Motion seconded Anne Schnader. <br /> <br />The Town Manager explained that the recommendation to withdraw was due to concerns <br />about the property’s tax-exempt status. <br />Since then, discussions with the Treasurer and DPW Director have taken place, and the <br />town is consulting bond counsel. <br />For now, the recommendation is to put it back on the warrant in case it’s needed for the <br />May meeting. If bond counsel advises against it, the plan would be to recommend an <br />indefinite postponement. <br />9 <br /> <br /> <br />
