Edward Dolan, Carol Dunivan, John Ferriday, Carl Heller, Joyce Howell, and William Towner Vern Polka _ Town Accountant Joseph Murphy - Executive Secretary The Finance Committee meeting commenced at 7 p.m. Anne Shaw the Treasurer Tax Collector joined the meeting to discuss her FY89 budget.. Anne noted that she is seeking to increase the clerk position from 20 hr./week to 24 hr. /week. She stated that if she could have the 24 hr. clerk position she would be able to drop the Wage Account from $2,000 to $1,000. The budget figures were agreed upon as follows: Salary Treas. /Tax Collector $32,500 Clerical Salary 68,243.92 Wages 1,000 Expense 5, 700 Bill Printing/Lock Box 25,500 Anne proceeded to explain Article 83 which she has submitted. The Article would allow for the acceptance of a new State Law. Every year each department that issues permits, licenses, etc. would be given a list of persons who are 12 months in arrears in taxes. No permits can be issued to such an individual and the person would be put into "Tax Title". Anne noted at present there is no way to stop the conveyance of property. All Finance Committee members agreed that this would be beneficial to the Town. The Finance Committee approved a Request for Transfer From The Reserve Fund in the amount of $2,400. It was requested that this amount. be transferred to the Old DPW Demolition Account to remove debris from Town to a private landfill because it could not be placed in the Town landfill. The Executive Secretary distributed to members worksheets showing Projected Revenue at $12,957,509 and a Summary of Estimated Expenditures at $14,084,396. He noted that .there are many variables and the figures are still changing. Finance Committee members proceeded to review the budgets on the omnibus and make recommendations on the budgets as follows.
