MA 02649 <br /> FINANCE COMMITTEE MINUTES <br /> Town Hall <br /> March 16, 1989 <br /> Present: Edward Dolan, John Ferriday, Tony Gallo, Carl Heller and <br /> William Towner <br /> The Finance Committee meeting convened at 7 p.m. The Committee <br /> continued their review of the operating budgets. The members reviewed each <br /> and every budget and were unable to come up with the needed. $1,202,133 in <br /> proposed cuts. ' The Committee could only agree on $654,206 in budget cuts. <br /> It became apparent that the budgets would have to be reviewed again. <br /> Members discussed a reduction of each budget 10%. This 10% reduction <br /> was not possible insome instances but the committee tried to effect the <br /> cut across all departments. <br /> Members had some questions as to how the two override articles: the <br /> school opening $492,270 and the Transfer Station $329,063 were to be handled. <br /> Members Dolan and Heller will meet March 17th with the Town Accountant and <br /> the Executive Secretary to further discuss proposed budget reductions and to <br /> see if these two overrides have been properly handled in the budget. <br /> The attached sheet lists the Finance Committee proposed budget <br /> recommendations for the omnibus. The meeting adjourned at 11 :15 p.m. <br /> The next scheduled meeting is March 20th at 7 p.m, and at 8 p.m. the <br /> Selectmen will join the meeting. <br /> Gail McNabb <br /> Board Secretary <br />
