rA
TOWN OF 14ASHPEE
' DESIGN REVIEW COMMITTEE MEETING
November 12, 1997
The Design Review Committee meet at 6: 30 p.m. on Wednesday,
November 12 , 1997 at the Lower Level of Mashpee Town Hall.
Committee Members Present: William Hauck, Ex Officio;
Ed Govoni, Chairman; Mary LeBlanc; and Thomas F. O'Hara.
Absent: Patrick Coffey
1. Bird Feeder Unlimited, Deer Crossing, Route 28 -- iSign
The proposed 8 ' x 216" sign meets all size requirements for
the Town as well as for Deer Crossing. Plans call for black
edging, hunter green-.lettering with "True Value" in red.
There were no objections to the sign.
2 . Andy IsMarket, 425 Nathan Ellis Highway, Route 151
Messrs. Brian Anderson and ,Fred Giampietro presented detailed .
plans showing seven different types of signs and various
changes to the building.
Types of signs and interpretation of the sign code were
discussed at length. It was pointed out that 25% of a window
may be covered up to 10% of an exterior wall. If a sign is
over 20 sq. ft. , a special permit is required from the Board
of Appeals. Changeable signs are an option, while poster
signs are not encouraged. Major signs will be green with gold
lettering.
The proposed colors for the building were unsatisfactory,
particularly the green base. Generally, there are too many
colors suggested. Color charts with historical colors and
various combinations were examined.
The Benjamin Moore colors agreed upon were:
• Piedmont Gray #1579 (darker of the two grays)
• Cliffside Gray #74
• Classic Burgundy #26
The color of the roof will be burgundy.
AIR
r
i!i
