Mashpee Design Review Committee
Minutes of Meeting Held Wednesday, September 1, 2004
Mashpee Town Hall Meeting Room 3
Committee Members Present: Thomas O'Hara, Mary LeBlanc, Walter Yarosh, Robert
Nelson (Mr. Nelson exited the meeting at 8:50) and Lee Gurney.
Summary
Clover Paving—Applicant to return with landscape plans and revised building plans
Site Plan and Landscape Review
Clover Paving
759 Falmouth Road
Applicant: Michael Borselli
Attorney Brian Garner, Daren McDonald and Michael Borselli presented plans showing
some modifications to the building.
There was discussion about leaving 4 to 5 inch diameter trees in the buffered area and
brush cut the under story, the under story to be maintained yearly. The board felt that
treating the buffered area in this manner was more attractive that leaving the buffer in its
natural state.
The rock wall was shown on the plans, the board felt that it was long and would need to
be broken up by some plantings on the bottom of the wall and evergreen trees on the top
of the wall. The board did not see a formal landscape plan at this time.
The building is 180 feet in length. It was felt that it needed to be broken up by either
materials or by a false facade. It was clear they did not want it to look like a long steel
building. The stone shown along the entire front of the building was not approved. It
was felt that they needed to bump out portions of the building. Building plans were not
approved.
The turning radius was discussed to insure that the Fire Department could get their trucks
around the building. Walter suggested that they show their plan to Fire Dept. They did
not show dumpsters on the site plan and were reminded to move the location of the sign
to 5 feet from the property line.
Conclusion: Applicant to return showing the screening of the wall, dumpsters, on
landscape plans and a revised set of building plans.
