Walter asked Building Department to obtain from
applicants proposing signage on buildings to provide more information on building size allotment to enable Design
Review Committee to determine whether or not the building sign is within the allotted 10%. Pat White said she would do
this in the future.
Conclusion: Sign approved, but since signage over 40 square feet Applicant has to have application reviewed by
Building Department for final review and approval.
New Seabury(Rotary)
Repacement(saxme_loccation and size)
Replacement for existing sign reviewed. Tom Jalowy commented(as an aside)that the landscaping is going to be
improved. Peter Glick showed
picture of proposed bank building to show placement of signage. Don Megathlin advised the Committee that South Park
Village re-wrote their sign guidelines so now when someone signs a lease agreement with them they get the sign
guideline. However, Don Megathlin said that 2 of the 3 signs proposed by Sovereign Bank are their signature signs which
would exceed the amount allowed by Design Review so they realize that if this Committee approves the signs proposed
they would have to get a variance. The signs that are illuminated will use outside lighting. Peter Glick said Sovereign
uses Back Bay for their signs.
Conclusion: Signage Approved. But at ATM although sign is okay Design Review requested that the whole
background of the enclosure area not be all red as shown in the picture but, rather, match coloring of the siding of
I
the building.
