QUASHNET RIVER SCHOOL <br /> SCHOOL COUNCIL MEETING <br /> MAY 17, 2000 <br /> The meeting was called to order at 6:35pm in the Quashnet River School staff <br /> lounge. Present were: Louise Doyle; Principal; Kathleen Penney, Lauretta Leone, <br /> Angela Luna, Alyce Shadan, Corrie Green, Lucinda McKay, Dorene Goldstein and <br /> Joanne McConnell. <br /> No one was present for Open Forum. <br /> -Minutes from the March 22 nd,were read. Voted by Corrie Green and seconded by <br /> Lauretta Leone. <br /> Unanimous <br /> Louise Doyle opened the meeting by discussing the PTO Parent Group monthly <br /> meetings. <br /> • Letters will be sent home with pre-school to Grade 2 for fundraiser AT & T <br /> phone plan. AT & T does all of the work by computer. Parents calls are <br /> credited with points to KCC account. <br /> • PTO Parent Group funded all snacks for the MCAS this week. <br /> • Family Literacy Day will be coordinated by Liz Wilber. <br /> • Family Picnic Day will be June 161h, rain date the 19th- free hay rides, ice <br /> cream from Ben &Jerry's at low cost. Invitations will be sent to parents. <br /> • PTO Parent Group will donate watermelon, beverages. <br /> • Parents to bring picnic lunch, blankets <br /> • Tree will be planted for River School <br /> • 6th Grade student will sing. <br /> • Volleyball <br /> • D.J. 6-8pm <br /> • Possibly K-9 unit from Police <br /> • Possibly George Baker with bagpipes <br /> PTO Parent Group hopes to continue next year. They wouldn't have to <br /> incorporate again if they stay together. <br /> Reorganization - the last days of the school year will be the 19", 20', 21s' <br /> with half days for students. Teachers will work full day. Dismissal times will be: <br /> K-3-12:15 and Grades 4-6 -11:30AM. <br /> ! I I nd Nnr 00 <br /> dHS%J14 -rj N,°Nk01 <br />
