"The Court Magistrate listened to Ms. Davis' side
first and then I spoke on behalf of the Board." "In my opinion, there were two things that
surprised the Court Magistrate, one being the levels of contaminants found in her well."
"The Magistrate was surprised the second round of sampling showed lower levels at
which time I explained to him the nature of v.o.c's." "I explained to the Magistrate about
rental property and State requirements and informed him the Board of Health must
approve the source of drinking water which must either be connected to a town water
supply or a source approved by the Board of Health." "Once we saw even the slightest
bit of contamination that we consider that a non-approved water source." "I informed him
the issue of water connection was not with the Board of Health but with the Water
District because the Board of Health has no jurisdiction over what the Water District
charges for connection fees or betterment charges." "Ms. Greelish did explain to the
Magistrate that the Water District is completely separate from the Board of Health." "In
g P Y
leaving I thought I presented a very good case." "The Board of Health will receive a
written document indicating the Magistrate's decision."
*****NEW BUSINESS*****
Human Services Committee
Mr. Evans relayed, "The Human Services Committee is exceeding their authority."
"The Chairman of the Committee spoke with the V.N.A. indicating that they might have
their funds cuts from the Family Quest program." "There is some responsibility of the
committee in reviewing the contracts and ensuring services are not being duplicated." "It
was their impression that Falmouth is not spending as much money as the town of
Mashpee and were of the opinion we should be cutting back on services." "Falmouth's
contract with the V.N.A. well exceeds what we funded for their services." "Ms. Roma
from the V.N.A. did drop by the other day and was very upset over possible cuts in the
Family Quest program."
