MINUTES February 26, 1998 7 BOARD OF HEALTH
LF4 Update
Mr. McQuaid stated, "After our meeting in Lakeville it was suggested by the
D.E.P. to make one more site visit." "We met on site this past Tuesday, originally, it was
determined that it would take three days to clean up the site and the town would have to
pay for an excavator for three days however, we now determined that it would going to
take two to three weeks." "The memo from the Selectmen asks us to certify that the
original $2,085.00 is the maximum the town is committed to in this cleanup process."
"Well, it isn't that." "I wrote a lengthy response to Mr. Whritenour on this subject stating
that unknowns cannot be predicted." "Mr. Whritenour was unhappy with that." "He
would like Weston and Sampson to come down and estimate the cubic yards of debris and
then estimate what percentage of that is construction and demolition that Mr. DiMaggio
can rightfully charge the town for a front-end loader just to landfill the stuff." "My memo
stated emphatically, that there is no way I can make an estimate." "I spoke with Roger
Alcott who is coming down Monday and will provide an accurate estimate as to the total
amount of cubic yardage of debris there." "We will then have to decide what percentage
of construction and demolition is there."
Mr. Ball stated, "I would recommend the agent research the equipment costs for
the site and transfer station." "I believe Mr. DiMaggio quoted a fee of$65.00 per hour."
*****NEW BUSINESS*****
Request -Pony Rides - Annual Wampanoag Pow-Wow
Mr. Evans relayed, "The Tribal Council is requesting the Board approve posy
Ae Awwal Pow-Wow."
Mr. Doherty motioned to approve the request for pony rides at the 1998 Annual
Wampanoag Pow-Wow with the stipulation manure is removed promptly, Mr. Cram
seconded, 411 agreed.
Variance request - 15 Dean's Hollow Road
Mr. McQuaid relayed, "The applicant is requesting a 10' variance from the
leaching facility to the foundation, a 7.5' sideline variance from the leaching facility to the
street, a 6' sideline variance from the septic tank to the street and a 1' variance from the
bottom of the leaching facility to groundwater,"
