I i <br /> TOWN OF MASHPEE <br /> BOARD OF <br /> O HEALTH <br /> March 4 1999 <br /> Meeting called to order at 7:18 p.m. <br /> Members present: Robert F. Cram, Sr., Steven R. Ball, Elias A. McQuaid and <br /> Veronica A. Mayer <br /> THE TAPE IS NOT PART OF THE MEETING; IT IS FOR THE PURPOSE OF <br /> TRANSCRIPTION ONLY. <br /> Mr. Robert F. Cram, Sr., Chairman <br /> 1.) Warrants signed. <br /> 2.) Mr. Ball motioned to accept the minutes of the January 7, 1999 meeting. <br /> Mr. Cram seconded, all agreed. <br /> Mr. Ball motioned to accept the minutes of January 21, 1999. Mr. Cram <br /> seconded, all agreed. <br /> Mr. Ball motioned to hold off accepting the minutes of the January 28, <br /> 1999 meeting until page two has been received. Mr. Cram seconded, all <br /> agreed. <br /> APPOINTMENT: Cape and Islands Engineering- 16 Taffrail Way <br /> Mr. John Slavinsky from Cape and Islands Engineering was in <br /> attendance for this scheduled appointment. <br /> Mr. McQuaid stated, "The system has failed. The applicant <br /> proposes to upgrade the system to include a F.A.S.T. denitrification unit." <br /> Mr. Slavinsky presented plans and stated that they are requesting a <br /> variance of 7' off the street property line; a 2' variance from the state regulation <br /> which requires 5' of permeable soil between the bottom of the leaching facility <br /> and groundwater, a 15% reduction in the required leaching, and to approve the <br /> installation of a denitrification unit. <br /> Mr. Ball motioned to grant the variances as stated by Mr. Slavinsky. Mr. <br /> Cram seconded, all agreed. <br />
