MINUTES April 28, 1999 5 BOARD OF HEALTH
approved by Town Council, the actual documents will be ready for mailing by the end
of this coming week."
Board acknowledged.
Recycling Intern
Ms. Mayer stated, "I have a copy of the resume for Jason Kravitz, the possible
recycling intern. I would like to propose that the Board pay Mr. Kravitz $5.50/hour
for approximately 200 hours from May 1, 1999 to August 1, 1999."
Mr. Ball motioned to retain Jason Kravitz as the recycling intern to the Mashpee Board
of Health from May 1, 1999 to August 1, 1999 at $5.50/hour up to 200 hours during
that time frame. Mr. Cram seconded the motion. Motion passed.
Variance request: 148 Algonquin Avenue
Mr. McQuaid stated, "The applicant is requesting that the owners of 152 Algonquin
Avenue revise the septic plan to reduce the distance from her system at 148 Algonquin
Avenue. The proposed system is within 10' of the existing system at #152. She's
requesting that the active and reserve leaching areas be switched. She spoke with the
owner of#148 who said it should be no problem for Cape & Islands Engineering to
revise the plan to reduce the distance from the edge of the wetlands from 94' to 90'."
Mr. Ball motioned to require Cape & Islands Engineering to revise the plans for 152
Algonquin Avenue to place the active pit in the reserve area thus increasing the
distance to the property line by 10'. Mr. Cram seconded the motion. Motion passed.
Daffodil Days
Ms. Mayer stated, "Daffodil Days will be held this May 1, 1999 at Mashpee Commons.
Well have a booth both days and the Human Services Committee has volunteered to
attend both days as well as the Board of Health."
Human Services Committee
Ms. Mayer added, "I just wanted to let you know that the Human Services Committee
is proposing to change their by-laws to increase the committee to 9 people. They will
be looking for two more citizens-at-large to join the committee. This is being done
because they are having a hard time reaching a quorum at their monthly meetings.
I'm concerned as to whether the Committee can change their by-laws without a town
meeting vote."
Board decided to have Ms. Mayer research this concern and report back to the Board.
Popponesset Inn
Everyone from the Board of Health is invited to the pre-opening celebration at the
Popponesset Inn on April 29, 1999. Board acknowledged.
