Mr. Santos seconded the motion.
Motion passed.
17. Variance request: 6 Santuit Lane
The applicant is requesting a variance of 5'from the property line to the
leaching facility, a 1'variance from the septic tank to the property line and a
variance of 10'from the leaching facility to the foundation.
Mr. Ball motioned to grant the variances as requested in a cover letter from
Down Cape Engineering dated June 28, 2001 with the stipulation that the
gases outside of the foundation is sealcoated to p g g into the
basement of the dwelling. Mr. Santos seconded the motion. Motion passed.
APPOINTMENT: Joseph Harvey re: 63 Waterline Drive (discussion only)
Mr. Harvey was in attendance for this unscheduled appointment.
Discussion took place regarding an existing 5-bedroom home on Waterline Drive. The
owners are interested in tearing down the house and re-building another 5-bedroom
dwelling. Ms. Warden confirmed that the home actually has 5 bedrooms and that it is
not in the Zone II area. The issue is that the system is a Title V system which is
functioning property but does not meet current Title V regulations due to the lack of
one more flow diffuser.
Mr. Doherty expressed his opinion that the system would either require additional
stone or an additional flow diffuser in order to meet current Title V requirements.
Mr. Ball expressed his concern regarding the vertical separation and stated that he
would like to see a denitrification unit.
Board members agreed that the addition of a recirculating sand filter may be the only
solution, however no decision was made as no formal request was being made.
DISCUSSION
a. Mr. Ball asked that mail slots be installed in the Board of Health office for mail,
memos and messages for the Board members.
b.
