MINUTES July 5, 2001 4 BOARD OF HEALTH <br /> 11. Letters of complaint re: 80 Mizzenmast <br /> Discussion took place regarding the concerns of the Little Neck Bay Association <br /> with relation to uncovered lot-80 on Mizzenmast Way which has become a <br /> habitat first for coyote and now for multiple dens of fox. Mr. Jim Vaccaro, <br /> President of the Association, submitted numerous letters of complaint as well <br /> as photographs and has stated in his cover letter that "this presents a bona fide <br /> threat to the public health and safety". <br /> Board members agreed that this is a legitimate concern and would follow up <br /> with a letter to the Bureau of Indian Affairs with a copy to the Department of <br /> Public Health and State Representative Matthew Patrick. <br /> 12. Variance request Greenwood Association Outdoor Pool <br /> The Greenwood Homeowner's Association submitted a variance request letter <br /> asking the Board to approve the use of a "robot vacuum cleaner (The Great <br /> White) which will run the entire night (9 p.m. to 9 a.m.) and will circulate the <br /> water constantly". The use of the vacuum is proposed instead of repairing a <br /> leaking bottom drain to prevent possible stagnation. <br /> Mr. Ball stated that he wants a letter from the Pool Company corroborating the <br /> statements in the cover letter from Ms. Lidy Bosselaers of the Greenwood <br /> Homeowner's Association. <br /> Mr. Doherty questioned whether it was necessary to grant a variance for this <br /> ter must be turned <br /> issue. He further stated, "If the regulation states that the water <br /> over and if it doesn't specifically say that you have to have a bottom drain, then <br /> no variance is required other than that they are required to turn over the pool <br /> water." <br /> No motion was made on this variance request. <br /> 13. Copy of BOH letter to Mobil "On The Run" and memo from Selectmen <br /> Discussion took place regarding complaints that have been received regarding <br /> the drivers' license scanning equipment in place at the Mobil "On the Run" <br /> tobacco retailer. Board members agreed that either manual or electronic means <br /> of accurately identifying customers' age would be acceptable. <br /> 14. Letter from Weston 86 Sampson re: final payment to Crowell Construction <br /> Discussion took place regarding the outstanding balance due to Crowell <br /> Construction for landfill capping services. Board members agreed to look into <br /> the original contract and what payments have been made to date. <br /> 15. Semi-annual report from Weston 86 Sampson re: Mashpee Sanitary Landfill <br /> Board acknowledged. <br /> 16. Variance request: 48 Oregon Road <br /> Due to a failed septic system, the applicant is requesting a 45'variance from <br /> the existing well at 52 Oregon Road to the proposed leaching facility, a 40' <br /> variance from the existing well at 44 Oregon Road to the proposed leaching <br />
