4 <br /> Ms. Warden recommended that Mr. Santos research that issue. She stated that she <br /> "assumed" that the new hire would have to begin at "step one." But, she didn't know <br /> definitively if that was the case. <br /> Mr. Santos then brought up the amendments that were discussed at the prior BOH <br /> meeting on July 5, 2001, that the BOH members wanted to add to the job description. <br /> Ms. Warden stated, "The amendments that you (the BOH members) had made to the <br /> J ob description were already there. " The BOH had reviewed an old job description at <br /> the prior meeting. <br /> Mr. Santos stated that under the MA General Laws it states that even though the BOH <br /> members know that the Selectmen are in charge of the collective bargaining, the BOH <br /> can set the salary as long as it stays within the collective bargaining agreement; <br /> anywhere between step one and step ten. <br /> Ms. Warden, again, recommended to the other Board Members that they research this <br /> item with June, who is the head of the collective bargaining committee, and Marilyn <br /> Farren. <br /> The ability to pay the new health agent at the top salary within the budgetary <br /> constraints for the fiscal year 2002 was discussed. <br /> OLD BUSINESS <br /> a. Tobacco Violation <br /> Mr. Santos asked if a fine for the tobacco violation had been paid by Mike's Service <br /> Station. Ms. Warden confirmed that the payment had been received by the BOH. <br /> b. Greenwood Estates re: Great White Suction Side Cleaner <br /> Ms. Warden presented a copy of Mr. Timothy R. Luzietti's letter to the BOH dated July <br /> 17,200 1. She stated that it was in essence a variance and that the BOH members <br /> would be allowed to grant it. <br /> Mr. Doherty stated, "Regulation states that the water must be turned over. He further <br /> stated that, "We (BOH) would grant the variance for this year and then re-evaluate it <br /> and the end of the pool season. But, we want records to show evidence that it did or <br /> did not work." <br /> Mr. Santos made a motion to grant the variance regarding the use of the Great White <br /> suction side cleaner. Mr. Doherty seconded the motion. Motion passed. <br /> EXECUTIVE SESSION <br />
