TOWN OF MASHPEE DESIGN REVIEW COMMITTEE MEETING March 26, 1997 The Deign Review Committee met at 6: 30 p .m. on Wednesday, March 26, 1997 at Mashpee Town Hall, Conference Room One . Committee Members Present : William Hauck, Ex Officio; Tony Ferragamo, Chairman; Ed Govoni; and Thomas F. O' Hara. 1 : Bikes-N-Boats - 566 Falmouth Road, Mashpee Mr . Alan R. Philbrook proposed a plan for a recreational rental and touring company offering rentals of canoes, kayaks and bikes (not mountain bikes) . The business would be operated from 566 Falmouth Rd. , which would serve as a staging area. Portable toilets and a concealing fence would be installed. It was suggested the privacy fence should be three-sided so the portables would not be visible from Route 28 . The time of operation would be from June 1 through October, 1997 . Discussion centered on the proposed 15 sq. ft . black and white sign. Plans call for it to be 3 ft . off the ground with 4x4 construction, and lettered by Peach Signs . It was suggested a black border would enhance the sign' s appearance and make it look more permanent. The sign will be placed perpendicular to the road. The telephone area code should be listed. Mr. Philbrook agreed that three junipers planted at the base of the sign would be appropriate . 2 . World Gym - Ronald Capozzoli - Deer Crossing Mr. Capozzoli displayed plans showing minor modifications whereby the sign would be removed and the pitch would be taken out of the rook making it flatter. It was noted this modification, although minor, requires a review by the Board of Appeals . 3 . Harwich Concrete Block, Route 130, Mashpee It was noted the outside storage on this property is in violation of the bylaws. Outside storage in this area is to be screened. The possibility of storing higher material in the back and lower pallets out front was suggested.
