TOWN OF MASHPEE
Design Review Committee
June 25, 1997
The Design Review Committee met at 6:30 p.m. on Wednesday,
June 25, 2997 at Mashpee Town Hall, Conference Room #1.
Committee Members present : William Hauck, Ex Officio;
Thomas F. O'Hara; Patrick Coffey, Planning Board
Representative.
Absent: Ed Govoni and Mary LeBlanc.
Mr. Hauck stated that in light of the fact than only three
members are present, a consensus will try to be reached on
each item. If that is not the case, another meeting will be
scheduled for next week.
1. Trans Flow Enercrv, Inc. , 79 Industrial Drive
Ben Gordon, President of Trans Flow Energy, Inc. , explained
his requirement for more space at his present location. He
proposed an addition of 40 ' x 70 ' to the rear of his existing
building. Drawings showed grade of roof and where the
attachment will be made. The design and color will be
consistent with what is there now.
The addition will be handicap accessible with two handicap
restrooms, which have already been reviewed and approved by
the Board of Health. Seven additional parking spaces are
planned, and a 50 ft. buffer zone will exist at the rear of
the property. Landscaping was briefly reviewed. ' The
committee had no problem with the plan, as presented.
2 . Michael' s Italian Cuisine, Deer Crossing
Messrs. Mills and Annino displayed plans slightly different
from the previously approved plan. The new proposal showed an
outdoor eating area, with hedges and a black railing around
it . Outside dining is permitted through a special permit if
shielded from a residential area. This plan is an effort to
clean up what presently exists, Mr. Mills suggested. No
waitresses will serve on the patio; it' s merely an eating area
to which patrons will carry their food. Logo umbrellas are
acceptable.
A height of 3 ft. hedges around the patio was agreed upon.
The species of plantings will be discussed with Mr. Govoni and
Ms. LeBlanc.
