TOWN OF MASHPEE
DESIGN REVIEW COMMITTEE MEETING
January 14, 1998
The Design Review Committee met at 6 : 30 p.m. on Wednesday,
January 14 , 1998 , at the Lower Level of Mashpee Town Hall.
Committee Members Present: William Hauck, Ex Officio;
Ed Govoni, Chairman; Mary LeBlanc; Thomas F. O'Hara.
Absent: Patrick Coffey
1. Bay Auction Company, 470 Main Street
Mr. Charles Bailey-Gates presented a plan showing the 4 ' x 5 '
sign to be placed outside the building, formerly the Cafe 130.
The building will be operated as an auction house. The
existing sign will be utilized. Colors will consist of a
white background, black lettering and logo with gold
highlights. There were no objections to the sign as
presented.
2 . Honey Dew Donuts, 44 Falmouth Road
Mary LeBlanc stepped down.
Attorney Kevin Kirrane and Steve Kyros discussed the
landscaping plans noting their intention to revert to the
original plan with some modifications as soon as the weather
permits. Suggestions included using mulch rather than stone,
installing a sprinkler system, and moving or adding certain
shrubs and trees. Stone will be allowed to remain in the
back. Drawings were clearly marked noting the changes. It
was suggested that Com Electric' s Trees and Shrubs Booklet be
used as a guideline.
i
3. Burger Ring, Route 151
M
' Mary LeBlanc re-joined the meeting.
Atty. Kevin Kirrane stated this plan is not a formal
presentation on his part, but merely an attempt to determine
whether they are moving in the right direction regarding the
building design. No landscaping plans were presented.
The proposed plan is a combination restaurant with drive-thru
window, an enclosed play area, convenience store and gas
station. It is similar in design to the Burger King located
on Route 44 in Plymouth which is scheduled to open in
approximately one month.
