Mashpee Design Review Committee C16" <br /> Minutes of Meeting Held Thursday,May 11,2006 <br /> Mashpee Town Hall Meeting Room 3 <br /> Committee Members Present: Walter Yarosh, Thomas O'Hara, Lee Gurney, Robert Nelson, Mary LeBlanc, and Richard <br /> Stevens. <br /> Summary <br /> • 14 Sampson's Mill Road-Stamped approved with conditions siding to be changed to white cedar shingles; <br /> landscape recommendations be shown on Landscape Plan; and final filing has to give proof that it has been <br /> converted to one lot,rather than two lots. <br /> • McShane Construction Co. -Everything approved other than grading/landscaping issue. Has to show dumpster <br /> on revised sketch,not shown on these Plans; and big issue is grading and buffer between two properties. <br /> • Duck Pond Limited Partnership—Not approved. Revised Plans to be submitted. Design Review is advisory <br /> Board and will send written recommendations to the Planning Board. Will also recommend to make sure all <br /> plantings from existing projects be done or don't issue occupancy permit. <br /> Walter Yarosh, Chairman, called the meeting to order at 8:30 a.m. <br /> Site Plan and Landscape Review <br /> 14 Sampson's Mill Road <br /> Matthew Eddy and Jim Crocker appeared. Following comments/issues discussed: <br /> • Landscape Plan...Mary recommended changing honey locusts to red maples. Applicant agreed. <br /> • Applicant stated they would be going to ZBA next. <br /> • Design Review recommended siding on building be changed from clapboard to shingles. Applicant said they plan <br /> on using pre-bleached dipped white shingles. <br /> Conclusion: Stamped approved with conditions siding to be changed to white cedar shingles;landscape <br /> recommendations be shown on Landscape Plan; and final filing has to give proof that it has been converted to one <br /> lot,rather than two lots. <br /> McShane Construction Co. <br /> 340/342 Main Street <br /> Kenmark Office Systems/Warehouse/Mercantile/Storage <br /> Matt Teague and Steven Hayes were present and showed formal Grading Plan and revised Landscape Plan: <br /> • Design Review mentioned that trees at comer of lot getting buried under sand. Applicant said they are going to <br /> clean up grading. <br /> • Biggest issue with this Plan is grading. <br /> • Buffer should be maintained between two lots. According to By-Law can't touch the buffer...need a variance to <br /> do that. <br /> • Landscape Plan...Mary suggested throwing some Oaks in to make more naturalized buffer by mixing Oaks with <br /> Pine. She commented that they did a very nice job on Landscape Plan. <br /> • Extend landscape up to where existing vegetation starts to make it look more natural. <br /> • Since second phase will probably happen later, Mary suggested to stabalize the backside sandy slope they could <br /> put in native grass and stagger cedars and oaks. <br /> • Second phase back piece may be under 40B,which would not come back for Design Review. <br /> • Landscaper to fax revisions to Mary for her to review. <br /> • Design Review Committee to go to look at the site. Applicant will schedule time with Pat White for sometime <br /> next week. <br /> Conclusion: Everything approved other than grading/landscaping issue.
