4 <br /> Minutes of Combined Meeting of <br /> Mashpee Design Review Committee and <br /> Mashpee Plan Review Committee <br /> Held Thursday,January 10,2008 <br /> Mashpee Town Hall Meeting Room 1 <br /> Design Review Members Present: Thomas O'Hara, Walter Yarosh, Robert Nelson, and Richard Stevens. <br /> Plan Review Members Present: <br /> Richard Stevens, Building Inspector <br /> Glen Harrington, Health Agent <br /> Drew McManus, Conservation Agent <br /> Tom Fudala,Town Planner <br /> Catherine Laurent, Interim Director DPW <br /> Charlie Maintains, Local Inspector <br /> Joel Clifford—Fire Department <br /> George Baker—Fire Chief <br /> Richard Stevens called the meeting to order at 9 a.m. <br /> PROJECTS FOR REVIEW: <br /> Curves(fitness center) <br /> 681 Falmouth Road <br /> Deer Crossing Unit I IB <br /> Michele Brandt <br /> Michele Brandt appeared and said that she is in the process of moving her existing Curves facility from <br /> Falmouth to Deer Crossing in the location previously occupied by Pendleton. She explained that Curves is <br /> a women's fitness center;normally 6-12 members are there at one time. They are open at 6 a.m. and close <br /> at 7 p.m. One or two staff members are at the facility and she pops in from time to time. All the <br /> equipment is hydraulic. <br /> Conclusion: Looked fine. <br /> Atlantic Bio Fuels <br /> 104A Falmouth Road <br /> Proposes to occupy three bays with tanks and <br /> processor in the manufacture of WVO biodiesel. <br /> Dudley Thomas <br /> Stuart Bornstein and Dudley Thomas were present. Stuart Bornstein addressed the Committee saying he <br /> built the Falmouth Road building with the most effective fire system. He said there is no hazardous waste <br /> and the upstairs is strictly dead storage for office material. Tom Fudala said the building is approved for <br /> storage only. Stuart said light manufacturing is also approved. But Tom pointed out that light <br /> manufacturing is in the 8,000 square foot non-storage area in the incubator space. Walter Yarosh added <br /> that in all the meetings reviewing these buildings storage use only was always discussed. Charlie <br /> Maintanis pointed out that methanol is flammable. <br /> There followed discussion, which included Chief Baker's comments that we are for this W VO process and <br /> we are working with the applicant for the single use building,not a multi-use building. Chief Baker <br /> pointed out this is a dangerous use in a multi-use building located on a main transportation corridor, <br />
