Mashpee Design Review Committee
Minutes of Meeting Held Thursday, May 28, 2009
Mashpee Town Hall Meeting Room 1
Committee Members Present: Walter Yarosh and Robert Nelson.
Also Present: Richard Stevens.
Absent: Thomas O'Hara, and Tom Jalowy.
Walter Yarosh, Chairman, called the meeting to order at 8:30 a.m.
Sans
Mashpee Care & Rehabilitation Center
161 Falmouth Road
Representative — Saxton Sion Corp., Stacey Richards
Carol Bugbee appeared and said that basically they are replacing existing sign and will use existing,
current lighting but the sign is rectangular rather than oval. Walter asked if they could use the light on
the pole to shine down on the sign, rather than ground lighting. Carol Bugbee said she will tell them if
they're going to light to do the overhead lighting. The Committee said the logo is fine.
Conclusion: Sign Stamped Approved subject to light being placed over center top. Awning
face was approved. Directional sign being replaced also stamped approved.
Orvis Outlet
27 Commercial Street
Representative — Sign A Rama, Phil Heggie
Jim McDermott and Phil Heggie were present. Phil Heggie addressed the Committee and said that
Building Department said as long as they don't exceed 10% of the area they were fine. Walter
explained how the 10% is calculated and informed them that the whole awning would count. Messrs.
McDermott and Heggie said they didn't realize that. The Committee pointed out that they have too
much signage, but would be okay if signage on the awnings is eliminated. The Committee said the
appearance of the signage looks great; just that size is a problem.
Conclusion: Stamped approved with condition that the 30 foot elevation has 1 center sign
over the top of the door; and the 2 awning signs are deleted.
Adiournment...The Design Review Meeting was adjourned at 8:54 a.m.
Respectfully submitted,
kn
""-AGilibertiding Secretary
