Martha Hopkins and Joan Martin (continued)
these funds. Glen Harrington noted that if they do get the funds, BOH has placed a condition that
they have 30 days from receiving the funds to complete the carpet/flooring work.
Dale McDonald, Trailer Park Manager...Mr. McDonald addressed the meeting. He said when Martha
Hopkins submitted her application to the trailer park she listed 2 dogs and that is what they approved.
He said if she had listed more than the 2 dogs, her application would not have been approved.
Both ladies said they were not aware that anyone had a problem with their dogs. Ronnie Warden
advised them that 14 complaints were filed against them for this meeting from their neighborhood.
Both ladies responded that "no one has told them". Chief Collins stated that a lot of information has
been articulated that this creates a "nuisance' situation.
Glen Harrington said this has been reviewed by the BOH; and BOH is working with the ladies on the
sanitary conditions. Last inspection by BOH was around Christmas time. Joan Martin said they've
made improvements since then.
Sheldon Hamblin commented that the reason the Fire Department is interested is that the EMT group
is very uncomfortable about entering the premises until porches and everything inside is cleaned up.
Conclusion
Motion made; seconded; and unanimously passed that request is approved only under the
following conditions:
• Install anti-barking collars on the dogs;
• No increase in dogs;
• No replacement of dogs on death of dog(s) now there;
• Return to Plan Review in 6 months for review;
• Work with Board of Health in monitoring cleaning; and
• Conditional on Board of Health conditions being met.
Marjorie Jordan
36 Savanah's Path
Request for Kennel License (5 dogs)
Ronald Jordan appeared and advised that he had receipts that he notified the abutters as required.
He said he has 3 Shepherds and 2 Shih Tzus. The dogs are housed indoors and let outside for a
couple of hours during the day. He has a chain link fence. Ronnie Warden noted that they received
one phone call questioning "kennel" license, but it was an inquiry, not a complaint. Mr. Jordan said
they are not adding any dogs and when these dogs are gone, then that's it. He said they are not
breeding; all the dogs are neutered. Glen Harrington said this will be reviewed at next BOH meeting.
Conclusion
Motion was made; seconded; and unanimously approved that the personal kennel license be
approved on condition it also gets approval by the Board of Health.
2
