Wayne asked EDC to review the Work Program and give him any changes before July 16 . Wayne may change the wording on marketing. Tom asked that the revised FY97 Work Program be mailed so EDC can vote on it at their July 16 meeting. Tom also asked EDC to review the goals for the coming year. Tom asked about the status of the Economic Coordinator position. The cutoff date for applications is July 2nd; and the interview process will follow. Paul asked for a streamlined interview process. Paul is planning a Pagemaker short tutorial session in August for any interested EDC members . Paul will help Wayne get started sooner. Paul noted that EDC' s flyer was placed on page 1 of the Chamber' s "Mashpee Visitor ' s Guide and Community Directory" . Paul asked Wayne to contact Pat Pry, Manager of the Chamber of Commerce, and send her a Guide for Business as a follow up to a request from a doctor who is interested in locating to Mashpee. Wayne stated there has been no follow up yet on the Employment Pool. Tom suggested putting employment ads over cable radio, and people might be more apt to respond to them. Ted suggested asking Augat what will happen to the other employees who are not following the company to Maine after they close. What are they doing as far as outplacing and can EDC help. Paul suggested a job fair. Tom suggested a time slot during the Mentor Program for a business owner to talk about the retail side. Wayne suggested there be an EDC component on the Chamber of Commerce agenda, and Paul asked Wayne to contact Pat Pry about this. Paul spoke with Chris Burden from the Cape Cod Development Council, and Chris stated informally that Mashpee is the model for economic development among communities.
