Wayne asked EDC to review the Work Program and give him any <br /> changes before July 16 . Wayne may change the wording on <br /> marketing. Tom asked that the revised FY97 Work Program be <br /> mailed so EDC can vote on it at their July 16 meeting. Tom <br /> also asked EDC to review the goals for the coming year. <br /> Tom asked about the status of the Economic Coordinator position. <br /> The cutoff date for applications is July 2nd; and the interview <br /> process will follow. Paul asked for a streamlined interview <br /> process. <br /> Paul is planning a Pagemaker short tutorial session in August <br /> for any interested EDC members . Paul will help Wayne get started <br /> sooner. <br /> Paul noted that EDC' s flyer was placed on page 1 of the Chamber' s <br /> "Mashpee Visitor ' s Guide and Community Directory" . Paul asked <br /> Wayne to contact Pat Pry, Manager of the Chamber of Commerce, <br /> and send her a Guide for Business as a follow up to a request <br /> from a doctor who is interested in locating to Mashpee. <br /> Wayne stated there has been no follow up yet on the Employment <br /> Pool. Tom suggested putting employment ads over cable radio, <br /> and people might be more apt to respond to them. <br /> Ted suggested asking Augat what will happen to the other <br /> employees who are not following the company to Maine after they <br /> close. What are they doing as far as outplacing and can EDC <br /> help. Paul suggested a job fair. Tom suggested a time slot <br /> during the Mentor Program for a business owner to talk about <br /> the retail side. <br /> Wayne suggested there be an EDC component on the Chamber of <br /> Commerce agenda, and Paul asked Wayne to contact Pat Pry about <br /> this. <br /> Paul spoke with Chris Burden from the Cape Cod Development <br /> Council, and Chris stated informally that Mashpee is the model <br /> for economic development among communities. <br /> The meeting adjourned at 8: 25 p.m. <br /> Mary UGe1st�° Board Secretary <br /> -3- <br />
