The deal will be negotiated before the Town Meeting vote. Tom Potts suggested hiring a professional negotiator. Steve Innis suggested talking to Karen Baptiste to get names of others who negotiated deals similar to this one and get the details from her. Tom Potts , Ted Lewis , and Steve Kyros will form a sub committee to work on who will be the spokesperson. The Cape Cod Commission sub committee will hold their last public hearing on the Industrial Park on August 22 , 1996 at 12 : 00 p.m. at the CCC Office in Barnstable. The full Commission will meet and vote to accept the development plan for the Industrial Park on September 5, 1996 , at 3: 00 p.m. EDC is encouraged to attend. Wayne stated that the owners of the Industrial Park filed for a special permit in Town. Wayne talked with them, and they have agreed to work with EDC before taking any more action on there own. The application has been frozen. EDC' s marketing approach is to work with businesses interested in locating to the Industrial Park. Tom Potts suggested sending a letter to the committees involved with special permitting informing them that EDC wants to review applications first. The Business Outreach committee will look into this and put together a Mashpee Industrial Park Advisory group. Wayne reported on the PWED grant application. We have to hire an engineer for environmental design work and construction. There are two phases which include traffic lights or a new road near Augat and infrastructure improvements at Mashpee Commons and the Industrial Park. Wayne met with Paul Dawson of Willowbend Development Corp. Paul Dawson offered to help people set up business plans as part of EDC' s mentor program and marketing efforts. Wayne will give him a copy of our plan. Wayne stated that Steve Milton who was looking for mentor assistance has found a site for his business. He asked for help in looking over the lease. EDC recommended that he consult a lawyer or John O' Brien. This will be discussed at the Mentor sub committee level. Th ebb The business cards purchase was postponed until we acquire Webb, E Mail and Fax numbers to print on the cards . The stationery purchase was also postponed. Paul will talk to Bob Whritenour about EDC' s dedicated line for E Mail, whether to hook it up or get rid of it. This is a $360 item in EDC' s budget. A motion was made by Paul Reynolds to spend up to $100 for employment pool pads, seconded by Ted Lewis. Unanimous. -2-
