Member Dolan will consult with <br /> e Chief . <br /> Fire Station Architect - $60 , 000 John Ferriday noted that tere <br /> s a definite need to enlarge the Fire Station and in five years he <br /> ould foresee the need for a substation probably in the South sector <br /> f town . The present facility is just not adequate . <br /> Fire Dept . Pick-up Replacement - $20 , 500 Finance Committee <br /> uestioned the cost of the maintenance of the current vehicle , and <br /> he need of a replacement this year . There are $80 , 000 miles on the <br /> urrent vehicle and member Dolan felt that this is not a lot of miles <br /> or a pick-up truck . <br /> Ed Dolan will discuss the Fire Dept . capital requests with <br /> hief Ridgeway and report back to the committee on February 7th . <br /> ublic Works <br /> DPW Computer - $25 , 000 Chairman Heller noted that this should <br /> be a 22 exemption . Members questioned why the DPW couldn ' t tie in <br /> to the town computer , and why was such a costly computer needed . <br /> Carole Dunivan will meet with DPW Director Virgilio about this . <br /> DPW Dump Truck - $30 , 000 <br /> DPW Tractor - $18 , 000 <br /> DPW Wood Chipper - $12 , 000 <br /> ' DPW Street Sweeper - $105 , 000 <br /> Carole will discuss these capital requests with the DPW . Members <br /> were concerned about some of the truck purchases especially in light <br /> of the event that the DPW may not be running the Transfer Station . <br /> Members could see the need for the wood chipper but on the other <br /> hand had no information about the need for a street sweeper . <br /> Chaper 90 Road Improvements - $56 , 000 This represents <br /> Mashpee ' s share of the state aid and Finance Committee members were <br /> in agreement as to the need of this request . <br /> Route 151 Traffic Signal - $75 , 000 This represents one-half <br /> the cost of the installation of a four-way traffic signal . Fields <br /> Point Ltd . will assume the rest of the cost . Members were concerned <br /> that there was no mention of the relocation ofthe roadway . Member <br /> Ferriday questioned the high cost of the light when there is already <br /> signal in place . Chairman Heller expressed his belief that thisit' <br /> hould be a 22 override issue . <br /> Recycling Program - $50, 000 This represents funds needed to <br /> implement a program to recycle tires , glass , hazardous waste , <br /> newspapers , white goods , metals , oils and composting and is purely <br />
