Finance Committee
Page 3.
February 14, 1989
Solid Waste — Carl would like to see the present budget for the dump
operation. The Finance Committee noted that they would like to override
the total amount of $329,063. The Committee would also like to question the
Board of Health about increasing the dump fees.
Treasurer/Tax Collector — The Committee questioned the $86,070.40 in
clerical salaries. The Treasurer's salary does not reflect the 6% cost of
living.
Animal Control — June Daley has an article seeking a part time Animal
Control Officer, $6,520. Ed said that he would like to know how many calls
she reponds to. Mr. Towner noted that this request will not drastically
increase the budget ( + 874) as the Officer's vehicle will be paid off.
The only new expense that she feels the new officer will incur is the cost
of the uniform, however the Committee questioned the need for gas and other
supplies. Ed would like to know why she needs the printer.
Civil Defense — Expenses in FY89 were $1,400 in FY90 they are requesting
$6,097. Finance Committee felt the request was excessive and will address
it with the Civil Defense.
The Finance Committee adjourned at 9:30. The next scheduled meeting
is February 15, 1989 and at that time the Committee will continue budget
reviews.
Gail McNabb
Board Secretary
II'
