BUDGET - Board of Health Deidre Greelish also did not participate in this discussion. Mr. Polsi's total budget for the Board of Health is $135,596. The department eliminated their request for a part time clerk. The salary request is $95,146 and the expense request is $40,450. Kevin Harrington's budget proposal was $123,548. Mr. Polsi indicated that the salary recommendation was high because the department is requesting the assistant's hours be full time rather than part time. Mr. Polsi also supports this request. BUDGET - Department of Public Works Al Polsi is the liaison for this department. Mr. Polsi's budget request for this department was $690,569. His salary recommendation was $382,914 and the expense request was $307,655. This is a 5% reduction for the department. The department requested $150,000 in capital expenditures. Mr. Harrington allowed for $70,000. Mr. Polsi felt that the Finance Committee should not vote on capital expenditures. He felt that they should be on an Article and voted on at town meeting. Mr. Baker asked for some assurance that the custodian in the department's budget would actually be working within that department. He asked whether his cleaning supplies and equipment are also listed in their budget? The members then discussed Kevin Harrington's budget proposals. Deidre Greelish handed out a printout to members. The sheet compared the Finance Committee's recommendations to Mr. Harrington's recommendations. Mr. Gallo indicated that the agenda for Tuesday, February 24, 1992 would . be the Personnel, Treasurer, Accountant, and Assessor's budgets. The meeting adjourned at 9:50 P.M.
