a ,
Page 4
with the Board of Selectmen when they were available to discuss the
Audit Report and Management Letter.
Ms. Greelish mentioned the Town Report and asked if everyone was
happy with last year's report? The answer was yes, continue with
the graphs and the article on "Where did your money go?" The Five
Year Plan will also be included.
OTHER BUSINESS
Mr. Dunivan noted for the record that he was very unhappy with a
letter that was written by Ms. King which had gone to press signed
by the Finance Committee, but not discussed and approved by the
entire Finance Committee. He stated that he did not see any such
note in the January 5th Minutes that this was discussed. Mr.
Goggin disagreed. He stated that the Finance Committee was only
responding to what another Committee had already gone to the press
about. It was not voted on and it was not in the Minutes. Mr.
Ferriday asked whether the Minutes of January 5th should be amended
to include the letter being sent. The other members stated that no
they should not.
NEW BUSINESS
• Mr. Goggin asked that each member now begin to meet with their
Departments to discuss their budget requests. Mr. Ferriday
mentioned that the Leisure Services may be overlapping with other
departments in town and would look into it. Mr. dunivan suggested
starting with the big departments first. Mr. goggin stated that
next week they will review Department requests.
UNFINISHED BUSINESS
Attached to this set of Minutes are certain topics and goals
discussed previously by the Finance Committee which should be
brought to their attention in writing for their permanent records.
It would be helpful to keep this list handy for future discussions.
The meeting adjourned at 9: 25PM. The next meeting will be held on
January 24, 1994 with the Board of Selectmen. They agreed to meet
with the Finance Committee at 7: 15PM. The Finance Committee will
also meet on Wednesday, January 26, 1994 at 7:OOPM. The Minutes
were submitted by Jean M. Mooney, Recording Secretary.
•
