Page 2
to Deirdre Greelish, Vice-Chairperson, for the tremendous amount of
work that she did to get the Financial Plan and the Annual Report
together to supply to the Committee as well as everyone else. The
Committee also wished to thank her for all of the other extra
computer work that she has been doing for the Committee. Marcia
King seconded the Motion and members voted in approval 4-0.
UNFINISHED BUSINESS
Attached you will find a revised copy of the Committee's Unfinished
Business. It was requested that the items be numbered for easier
review and that there be an item added in regard to Medical
Insurance and an item to add Medicaid to the list. I have also
added the names of the Finance Committee members which were
assigned to each item for their special attention and review, which
was discussed. (In regard to the member who will attend the School
Building Committee meetings, Marcia King relayed to the Committee
that she could not attend because they have decided to meet at
4:OOPM, three Mondays out of the month and one Tuesday evening.
John Ferriday could not commit himself to attend all of the
meetings but stated that he would try to get to as many as
possible. Tony Gallo also agreed to attend some meetings. Mr.
Ferriday and Mr. Gallo can work together on that item.
• Dan Goggin mentioned to the Committee that he reviewed the Audit
Report completed by an independent CPA for the Town. The CPA
reviewed the Town's Financial Statements and Mr. Goggin stated that
they found nothing out of the ordinary. Mr. Goggin also noted that
he has a meeting scheduled on Monday, February 7, 1994 with the
Board of Selectmen and the CPA to discuss the Management letter.
Mr. Goggin explained that this letter points out any inadequacies
that the Town may have in their internal control. This is not
publicized. Mr. Goggin also noted that the Accounting Department
was congratulated on doing a fine job.
It was noted by the recording secretary that the School Department
and Board of Selectmen receive copies of all approved Minutes by
the Finance committee. Mr. Goggin asked her to find out if they
would like this continued. The answer was yes, both parties would
like to continue to receive copies of the approved Minutes.
Ms. Greelish stated that she has been invited to speak on May 11th
at a meeting of the Association of Town Finance Committees, Western
LDivision in Chicopee, Massachusetts. Ms. Greelish also explained
she and Marcia King had been invited to attend the
achusetts Municipal Association of Town Finance Committees
h was held in Boston. Both had attended, as well as Nancy
yn, Selectperson.
Goggin handed out copies of the revised Town Clerk budget. He
requested that the recording secretary request that Personnel
ide revised copies of their budget for the Committee.
