■ <br /> • MASHPEE FINANCE COMMITTEE MEETING MINUTES <br /> JANUARY 5, 1994 <br /> MEETING COMMENCED AT 7:OOPM <br /> Members Present: Dan Goggin, Chairman; Deirdre Greelish; Denise <br /> Sullivan; John Ferriday, Roger Dunivan and Marcia King. Tony Gallo <br /> was unable to attend. <br /> Please note for the record that the taping of this meeting was for <br /> the transcription of the Minutes only, and will be reused once the <br /> Minutes are approved. <br /> Denise Sullivan MOTIONED to accept the Minutes of December 15, 1993 <br /> as written. Deirdre Greelish seconded the Motion and members voted <br /> unanimously to accept the Minutes as written. <br /> UPDATE SCHOOL BUILDING COMMITTEE <br /> Marcia King and Deirdre Greelish had attended the Board of <br /> Selectmen's meeting on Monday night, January 3 , 1994 and wanted to <br /> share their thoughts with the Committee. The meeting was in regard <br /> to the School Building Committee and what was being done about <br /> selecting an architect. Marcia King mentioned that she felt that <br /> the Building Committee just wants to go ahead and hire an <br /> • architect. She thought the Building Committee felt compelled to <br /> choose. The two remaining choices were DRA and Keyes. Ms. King <br /> also thought that Paul Griffith, Building Committee, may have <br /> implied that legal counsel felt that legally the Town needs to <br /> choose one of the two remaining architects. Ms. Sullivan asked <br /> whether the Board of Selectmen made a decision? The answer was <br /> that they could not agree unanimously. Eventually Ms. Greelish and <br /> Ms. King agreed that it was the Selectmen's decision to review a <br /> few more bids and to visit some other high schools. They mentioned <br /> that Judy Mills wished to now see all ten candidates, as well as <br /> seeing some other schools. <br /> j Mr. Dunivan asked the ramifications if the town did not file on <br /> ! June 1, 1994 . Ms. King stated that the Town would then have to <br /> file on June 1 , 1995. The Town could submit the plans, for <br /> example, in September or October and the State could approve the <br /> plans, so that the building could start being built. Then in June <br /> of 1995 the town would be put on the State's list for <br /> reimbursement. Ms. King explained that after speaking with someone <br /> at the Department of Education, the plans have to be about 98% <br /> accurate when filing with the State. You only get one chance to <br /> file and there can only be minimum changes made after the filing. <br /> Ms. King also explained that this gentlemen at DOE felt that the <br /> normal process was to first prepare an Educational Plan, select an <br /> architect and lastly vote on the funding. Ms. King answered that <br /> Mashpee did it a little differently. <br /> Dan Goggin asked what the Committee felt could be done since the <br />
