Brown
Mr. Philip DiIorio, Board of Health, stopped in and was given
a Personnel Evaluation° Form for Lucinda Lashley. A letter will
be sent to him stating that upon receipt -of a satisfactory
Evaluation Report for Mrs. Lashley, the Personnel Board will
advise the Town Treasurer that a merit raise should be effective
retro-active to July 1, 1975 • It will be noted that we can find
no record of any prior evaluation, which had been requested in
our letter to Board of Health of February 18, 1975 .
There will be a meeting Wednesday, September 10, 1975,
at 4 p.m. between the Personnel Board and Board of Selectmen to
discuss various matters.
Mr. Clendenin moved, it was seconded and approved, that
Town Counsel be asked to attend the meeting on Wednesday so
that the ideas and decisions of the Personnel Board concerning
severance pay could be written into the Salary Administration
Plan in a manner consistent with the laws of the Commonwealth
of Massachusetts. It was suggested that after three (3 ) years
of continual employment, averaging at least thirty-five (35 )
hours per week, one week of severance pay, up to a maximum of
twelve (12) weeks, be givento full-time permanent employees.
• Re Geoge Costals employment status, the Personnel Board will
again ask Town Counsel for direction, and will ask the Selectmen
for a statement that they have a position that would be consistent
with the stated requirements of Kenneth K. Nakano, M.D. , Costals
neurologist.
Re Oliver Pocknettts request for reconsideration of his
anniversary date for vacation purposes, . no decision was reached
and it will be discussed further at the meeting with Selectmen.
A letter from the Selectmen requesting the hiring of a
full-time clerk/typist for their office;=was discussed. A letter
will be sent to Selectmen stating that Personnel Board concurs
with their need. subject to budgetary approval by the Finance
Committee and Town Meeting approval .for the continuance of this
position. Applications are now being accented. (Copy of letter
to Finance Committee) .
Mr. Clendenin moved that the Personnel Board request an
up to date accurate job description from the Selectmen for the
position of Executive Secretary. This position is being adver-
tised in the upcoming newsletters of Massachusetts League of
Cities and Towns, and International City Management Association.
Ads will be placed locally and in the Boston Globe to correspond
• with the early October dates of these newsletters.
